From the iPhone

Testing the blogger app, still not back up to speed 100%. Getting there though.

Testing

Test post.

Fair Warning

All this alleged end of the world crap has me thinking that I may have to spend a large portion of 2012 shooting people for talking shit about the mayan calendar. Also, just for pronouncing it "expresso" but that was probably going to happen anyway.

Also, about halfway through both my main stories for Don't Panic! 3, with a fake ad done already, all is well. I'm just waiting for the universe to fuck me over big time.

Shiny gubbins

Also; this item is taaasty.

Progress. Delicious, nutritious progress!

Working my way through issue 3 of Don't Panic now, about half-way through blocking out Atnas and started work storyboarding what may end up being my first multi-part story. I feel productive. Go me.

Injured.

So, cycling home last night, I swerve to avoid something that ran out in front of me, clipped a roadworks sign and came off the bike. I am currently resting, but fucking hell, I am agonised. I'm just hoping this won't delay Don't Panic! 2 (which I've been working on, hence lack of blogging.) but since my writing hand hurts second most, I'm not optimistic. Shit.

And I missed photoshop being delivered. Double shit.

Madness and death await you all!

Well no, that's a lie. More bloggery is the limit of my shenanigans at the minute. Just home from work and knackered, though I'm planning some more Don't Panic work before bed, along with a delightful banoffee hot chocolate. Mwaaaa! So I hvae some more Cyril! The Action Monk in my head, along with a stupendously silly idea that I'm not even sure'll be worth the effort, but when has that ever stopped me.

So, something of a guilt post, I seem to be neglecting ye olde blog at the minute. Personally, I blame this whole "full-time job" bit. It's just not pleasant.

Dream sweetly, audience meat. Or Debbie as you're known at the minute....

Also...

Keep forgetting to put it down here, but we have a website up and running for the comic, it's the imaginatively named www.dontpaniccomics.blogspot.com. There's bugger all on it yet, but I plan to put teaser images and such up there and anything else that seems good to me.

Don't Panic!

Yes, the first bit of our shiny comics work is up! Just been put on www.talesofthe.com. Follow the link to check it out. Ready money for when we finish printing it. Mwahahaha!

Also.

Something more sensible. Sadly. I'm still gutted about not managing to get the first issue of our comic together on time. (I will be referring to lack of ink as technical difficulties for the forseeable future, dammit.) On the plus-side though, there's been a spot offered on talesofthe.com, which is a profoundly tasty alternative to not doing anything for another fecking month. All hail Stephen Downey for the offer! Hooray!

Mein title!

Ok, I'll grant you I may not be Dr Whiskey, but I may be referred to as Professor Vino Destructo! No, really.

Things. Also, stuff.

Until I get a proper grip on the whole blogging thing, what I'm putting up and what I plan to achieve, I'm going to just make a few random posts as things pop into my head. First up, things what I do liking to.

One of my main stops on the interwebs, pretty much the first blog I started following is Warren Ellis' site, the imaginatively titled www.warrenellis.com. Pretty self-explanatory really, a mine of interesting links and information in general, it's been responsible for pointing me in the direction of stuff I would have had no idea about, including Coilhouse and Ectoplasmosis. A pair of blogs that I've been following for a good while too, though to be honest Coilhouse focuses on fashion more that I can care about and Ectomo's been going downhill for a while now. At least the Lovecraft freak in me will always have a soft spot for Cthulhu Cthursday and the fact that they introduced me to what has become one of my favourite things in the cosmos, Caustic Soda: The Podcast. Another fine entertainment product from Canada, along with Nomeansno and Kids in the Hall, but still not enough to make up for Bryan Adams, they describe their work as "hard science for soft people", which is as good a description as any. I recommend Jehovah and Space Warfare.

And that'll do for now, went nowhere near how I planned/expected it to go, but I'm finding that a lot lately. Oh well, bed.

Who, What, When, Where, How, Which?

Well, until I figure out what exactly I plan to do on this thing, a few random posts will have to do to get me into the habit of posting shiny gubbins here. To start with, in an idea shamelessly half-inched from Warren Ellis, a bit about me;

My name is G A McKnight, I'm a burgeoning comic creator in East Belfast, though trying to balance that out with the cruel indignities of a real job. Not cricket, I know, but my bills are annoyingly stubborn in their selfish refusal to pay themselves. In comics terms I'm focussed on short form comedy pieces, being put together with a mate of mine, which we hope to be selling soon in The Black Box in Belfast, though there may be a possibility of using the intertubes to sell it if we can get enough people to think it's a good idea. Though the cost of getting them drunk enough to do that may make it counter-productive.

That's it for a start, when I have found a point, Ill let you know. Now, I shall do bed.
